Because there has been a delay in distributing the Duke School of Medicine Secondary Application, we wanted to contact you with an update. You are receiving this email because AMCAS has indicated that your application has been verified and Duke is scheduled to receive your verified application when the application data is transported from AMCAS to our in-house database. AMCAS is not responsible for initiating this transfer of data, Duke is, and we will begin that process very shortly.
During the spring and early summer months, the School of Medicine's Executive Committee requested some revisions to the secondary application's essay questions. Those revisions have now been endorsed and approved by the entire committee and the final step towards distributing the revised secondary application to our applicants rests with our information technology staff. Once they have applied the revisions to the electronic format of our process, we will be sending the invitation to complete and submit the secondary application.
As a reminder, all applicants with AMCAS verified applications receive the Duke Secondary Application. We do not screen your application until you have completed and submitted our secondary application.
We hope this email reduces some of the anxiety. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 919-684-2985. The volume of emails is beginning to increase substantially so we request that if you need to contact our office that you do so by telephone rather than by the general office email ([email protected]). This applies throughout the entire admission process.
