For the PS on the primaries on AMCAS, this is lame but it saves a ton of space. Can I indent by like two or three spaces just to save an entire line of characters? Im just cutting down on words crazily that I thought that this may be a better way.

just don't indent at all. use two returns - makes a paragraph break with two char's

my understanding is that a paragraph break is two characters.

eitherway, you want your PS to be easy to read and flow. two line breaks between paragraphs is MUCH better from my perspective. Personally, it was more important to reduce words at the benefit of having empty space between paragraphs.

adcoms read thousands of these PS's. make your's simple to skim (b/c -- lets admit it-- they mostly skim these until/ if you're invited for an interview).

I agree with above. Definitely go with a line between paragraphs. It really makes it readable, and even if you take all the breaks out, you're only going to save a dozen characters or so, which just isn't worth it.

If you don't add a space in between paragraphs, it may look too crushed together and hard to read.

Wait, empty LINE breaks dont use up characters?

Every break uses up characters. Just cut out like 1 sentence from your actual PS. You really don't need 5300 characters lol, some reviewers would even be UGH seeing so much to read, and just skim it - you don't want that.
