I think some people use a PDF form filler. Most of mine have been online so far, but I know one of em is a PDF, haven't started on it though.

last year I measured the pre-printed forms, made a word doc for each page, and put text boxes in the right places. Then I printed the word doc over the form.

This is by no means the easiest - or smartest - way to get your answers on the paper, but it is how I did it fwiw.

How do i get a pdf form filler? GWU and Einstein let me type directly on the PDF but the SUNY schools will not let me.

For pdfs that dont let you type them, you may have to create text fields on them with adobe acrobat.
I, personally didnt have much luck with that option, so I scanned them in to photoshop and created text boxes where i wanted em. Yes that was probably more complicated than it needed to be.

It has been a little while since I have had to do this, but in the lower left there is a key or lock icon. On some of the ones that I could not type in I could click that icon and choose disable security or select an option to allow me to edit the document. Of course, you need the full version of adobe acrobat if I'm not mistaken....

Then there is an option in the full version where you can just click the line and it will allow you to type on it; no need to make next boxes or anything.

I read somewhere too that one option is to write out all your responses in a word processor, print them out, cut them out, and then paste them onto the printed out pdf. Then take that pdf and xerox it and voila! a professionals looking typed application. I haven't necessarily tried it myself but I am gonna.

I did that to fit my personal statement on my AACOMAS app. Worked like a champ.

I used a regular old pen for any paper secondaries. And I was still accepted into med school.
