Not sure why original post was deleted, and I'm sorry if I'm being OCD, but can someone who is familiar w/ this thread (or atleast the topic) give me a one sentence summary of what I need to know for DVT ppx? I can't help but feel like it's either heparin (then bridge to an INR of 2-3 or so) and/or IVC filter, etc...

but then again, I have no clue what the question stem was. Am I missing something? thanks in advance.

That's true for an actual DVT, but prophylaxis for inpatient (which is what OP was asking about) is shown to be overused, just like ulcer prophylaxis.
