Any tips for how to get through summer classes, it's very hard to focus, I damaged my knee playing soccer so I can barely walk, and it's ramadan so I'm fasting all day (I actually think I can focus more).

Also, do you guys have some tips for Physics 2? Other than practice problems, and attending lecture, is there any point to reading the material for a physics book. I did that for physics 1 because I never understood what the instructor was teaching but I always felt it was a bit of a waste of time. I've already got stacks of Psychology material to read through so I was hoping to be more efficient for physics.

It depends on how you learn. What works for me may not work for you. So its difficult to advise you. Thats said, practice problems are most beneficial to me.

This might help. Just keep in mind that compared to med school, this should be a walk in the park. That's what motivates me anyway...

To add to claduva94's post, do all the homework not just once, but twice.

Whaaat? How is that first line motivational at all!

And why would anyone want to do homework twice?

1. If you 100% believe you can make it through med school, you should definitely believe you can make it through undergrad, right? You don't have to agree.

2. No one *wants* to do homework twice. But physics 2 has detailed, multi-faceted problems with generally intangible concepts. Imagine someone is struggling in physics 2 and you took 4 hours to do a 10 problem homework set, which is not uncommon, especially in summer. Do you really think the average person will be able to sit down a week from now and blaze through all of those problems with ease and very few mistakes (in other words, get an A) after only processing them once? Again, you don't have to agree. I'm no expert, but I have a relatively high level of tutoring and teaching experience, as well as pedagogical training (as an undergrad, that obviously still doesn't make my opinion all that valid).

Are you me? Yeah, the funny thing about being in a fasted state is that you're focused and alert.

For anything math-related, practice problems are key. I've always liked physics, so reading through a textbook wasn't a problem for me. But if you find it a waste of time, you might want to look into other resources. Check out Khan Academy and see if they have anything useful and use the textbook as reference if needed.

I see you don't understand the meaning of, "death."

That aside, to do well in physics, Google or search Youtube for concepts you don't understand. There are some very helpful resources here: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/free-stuff/1247592/

Good luck and happy healing!

Suggest that you NOT take summer classes if you have issues affecting your performance. Make good choices.

Study optics like it's your business. And know wave physics like you're married to it. Both come up very frequently on the MCAT. And remember, if you study now, remembering it for the MCAT is a lot easier.

Good luck! 😀
