Some schools are converting into a DVD based texts instead of the traditional books. Anyone have any experience with this? I personally prefer books over having to read everything on a monitor or have to print it out. <img src="graemlins/pissy.gif" border="0" alt="[Pissy]" /> What are your thoughts?

San Antonio was the front-runner for DVD/laptop use in dental schools. According to their students, you do get printed-out notes as well, so you really have an option to choose whichever style of learning you prefer. I think it's great that they offer both- that way you don't have to always strain and stare at the computer screen, but you also don't have to lug a ton of heavy textbooks everywhere. The best of both worlds.

If the school you are considering does not do this, I would recommend buying a laser printer -- a bit more pricey initially, but loads faster than an injet and the ink cartridges last much longer. No color, but still think they're worth it.
