Do schools attach all e-mail correspondence you send to your file? (I'm asking because I just sent an e-mail with a run-on sentence and so they may think that I have communication problems.)

Yes they do..... all emails you send to them are attached to your file for the committee to review...regardless of the content of the email...

So how much weight do the e-mails carry?

Also, are phone calls to the school reported in your file? I've called schools before where they did not know who I was, but the responder knew that I was calling about the particular thing that I had e-mailed about. I don't know how she made the connection to my e-mail address before I had a chance to tell her what I was calling about.

I asked this exact question to an adcom member for the University of Arizona last year at my school's pre-health fair panel, and they told me that unless the email is ridiculously stupid (i.e. it makes the reader question your ability to write or speak coherently) then not to worry about it.

So one run-on sentence is fine?
