hey for those who took the exam, how many audio questions did you get on the entire exam? i want to bring in my own ear plugs b/c i don't want to risk being uncomfortable with those big headphones they give you, and i was just wondering how often i'd have to take out my ear plugs and change it for the headphones for the audio questions

Depends on your test..But average is about 3-4 audio questions.

as far as i remember, you are not allowed to bring your own ear plugs

The testing center I went to for the practice exam allows for earplugs, though they inspect them first. They allow them for the real deal too.

I just took out one earplug during the audio questions to save times.

thanks! yeah i think changing it out 3-4 times for the whole test prob won't be too bad.. and i called my testing center and they had said that we're allowed to bring ear plugs but they'll make you squish it in front of them to make sure you weren't hiding anything in them. not sure how an audio recording would help us during a test like this (would probably distract us more) but whatever lol

I remembered during the MCAT, i took my foamy earplugs and then also used those red ones (suction ones). I could not hear a thing.

What red suction ones? Never heard of those before. I can always still hear way too many things with the regular foamy ones. And do the prometric headphones they let you use suck? I wish you could bring your own.

Sorry, in advance. I'm not trying to jack the OP's thread. Just seemed like relevant questions.

Well I haven't been to the center since the Mcat but they had RED headphone which engulf your ears rather than just covering the ears.

I only had 2 audio questions on the whole thing. I brought my own earplugs (and the center didn't even squish them before), they gave me a tissue to take in to place them on during breaks or any time I had to remove them. For the audio, I took both out and listened, put them back in when finished listening.

One audio question. I can't agree with you more, bring your own ear plugs.

:luck:

I took mine last year, but I remember 4 audio questions, and I left my ear plugs in and put the headphones over with volume on full blast. Saves time from having to put the ear plugs back in your ear.
