I just got an email from Columbia to set up an appointment for the interview. I thought I wanted to wait for NYU response so that I can set the date close to each other. Therefore, I could save some money from air fare.

But, my stats are not that competitive as others. Should I go early?

What are your opinions? Thanks

I say the earlier the better ... youve obviously got something they like or the invitation wouldnt have been sent. good luck

i would go for sure the as soon as you can that way they your one the first they see and will stand out more.. IMO.

what do you guy think early interview is?

Personally,

August~November Early

November~January Moderate

January~at the end A bit late

Do you have any supporting reasons to classify like this?

My thinking is.....
Acceptance letter is released from November

Seats are being filled significantly by January

Not based on true data, but just I am guessing based on what you guys have said in SDN. 🙂

I would say schedule it early. I waited a week to schedule my michigan interview and had to make it a month later than i wanted. If you wait, the chance that you'll be able to schedule them together is slim

I disagree lol. I think:

Before December 1st - Early

After December 1st - Very Late

self-explanatory..

There is no difference between August interview and November interview?

But, November interview and December interview are hugely different?

<Early>
August
September
October
November
December

<Late>
December~

Simply, I want to know the possible difference among early interview dates. ---> This is the buttom line!!

Once again, the acceptance letter is released after November. The seats are officially being filled in since then. So, January is late, as two months are a looooooooong time!! Is that your reasoning?

Hm..November, December, January............
From when we can consider late???????
This will be the real question, then!!! :scared:

Oh~ btw, I made a mistake when I am saying that "Junaury~at the end" interview is a bit late. If I make a correction, that is very late. OK!

I'd suggest calling NYU and explaining that you're an out of stater and would rather only buy one plane ticket and REQUEST an interview. It's worth a try. I applied to both Tufts and BU and if I get an interview at one I was going to call the other and request an interview for that exact reason - I'm poor!

The worst that could happen is that NYU says no. DEFINITELY worth a try!

I would say since most schools give out acceptances on Dec. 1, I would say late would be after Dec. 1 since people will be in already and that means lower chance of getting into the school because of less seats available...
