No I'm not in the Biomed program, not anymore at least. I'm in a program at a university that gurantees a seat into their medical school right after I finish undergraduate. You apply to it during or right after your sophomore year. There are several schools that participate in these programs at the national level,
UCONN (apply after junior year)
Wakeforest University NC
SUNY Buffalo
SUNY Upstate
There maybe some others but those are the only ones I know of for now. Basically its a program to relieve the stresses of medical school applications and MCAT so that the students entering their medical schools have had an enjoyable well rounded education. There are usually some rules you have to adhere to between the time you get offered a seat and finishing undergraduate. The BIOMED program at UCR is a pyramid program that eliminates students during the course of their three undergraduate years where upon the end of the third year, 24 students are selected into a UCLA medical school program. You do your basic science years at UCR, then your clinicals at UCLA afiliated hospitals. Its a good program I encourage people to apply to, but it was too competitive for me, and I wanted to enjoy the rest of college which I am most thankful for about this EAP program.
