Just wondering if applying for an Early Decision program for a pharmacy school increases your chances of getting an interview/acceptance from a particular pharmacy school.
Thanks!

As long as you're relatively competitive (average or higher) in terms of the specific school you're applying to, then yes.

Since ED is binding and not offered by most "top" PharmD programs, applicants with higher stats that typically boost these schools' GPA/PCAT scores won't apply ED - they'll apply for regular decision for their schools so that they have options and can choose where to eventually attend.

I would only apply ED if you're sure that you want to go to that specific school; however, IMO you're likely to get admitted to where you want to go 1) if you're competitive, and 2) you get your application in as early as possible. I would think that applying ED would put you ahead of someone that is as competitive as you because that let's the school know that you want to go there.

Why do schools even offer ED? Scared they won't get enough applicants or something? I would figure there would be enough regular applicants that ED wouldn't be important to them.
