Hello.
I am curious how waiting list system works.
If you intervew early like September and if the school put you on the waiting list in Dec. 1st, do you still get a priority for the opening seat?

That really depends on the schools. Some schools have a ranking system where they factor in your GPA, DAT, and everything else on your package. For exmaple...UOP does that. Some schools just randomly select people out of the waitlist. And some schools will take the students who are showing strong interest in attending their schools. So make sure to call them every once in a while to follow up with your application once you're waitlisted. Let's just hope you get in after your interview and dont have to wait for an open seat.

in my previous experience, it doesnt really matter.

i was interviewed at baylor on sept 8th last year (one of the earlier dates for interview) but didnt even make it to their alternate list which they made on Feb for opening seats.
they told me that after dec 1st, they went over all of app. who haven't been accepted and compared again to pick the best ones to make the alternate list.
