Would having an LOR received too early be a negative thing? I'm not planning to apply until the next cycle (2024-2025), but I just received a LOR from one of my professors. Is this bad? Should I wait until next year, or is it better to get the LOR while I'm still fresh in the professor's mind?

Did your professor send it directly to you? The med schools ask you to give up your right to read them. The recommender needs to be the one to send it to your application system, and when you fill out your application you will provide the emails of your recommenders.

If you are not applying until 2 years from now, you can:
1. Ask him to hold on to it and remind him/send him the link to upload it to the application system in May 2024.
2. Set up an account with a service such as Interfolio which will hold on to letters confidentially until you ask them to send the letters in to your application system. If you do this, he may have to update the letter with a current 2024 date.

p.s. your username is hilarious

Haha thank you!
Have the professor write it now and the professor submit to interfolio. In two years ask for an update
Perfect, I had the professor send it to Interfolio already. So next year, in 2024, I just ask them to update the date on the letter? How do I go about phrasing that?

What's considered a science professor? One of my science courses in the summer was taught by someone who has a masters but not a PhD, and they do not teach during the regular school year. Would this still count as a science professor? They also were an EC advisor for me, so I'm not sure how to categorize them. If I could use them as a science professor, that would be great, though, as we had a strong relationship.

“Prof, thank you so much for writing me a letter. AMCAS requires a letter dated within the last 12 months, could you send it again with a fresh date?”
