It's been nearly 10 years since my last post here. It's good to see this resource here and still thriving.

I just felt like sharing my experience in dentistry and my future away from such a great and fruitful career. Early in life, I learn the importance of thinking for myself and forging my own way. After careful contemplation and consultation with my wife, I decided to sell my thriving office and move to Brazil. Sounds crazy, doesn't it?

Today, I'm nearly 46 years old. I have been in Dentistry for 15+ years and will officially be closing the door on a very fruitful career. In 2021, I sold my practice and invested in a large 300-acre property in Brazil. My family and friends all assumed I lost marbles which only strengthened my confidence. One thing I learned in life, it is best to do the opposite of the consensus. I'm a contrarian at heart. The decision to sell three years ago today appears to be the best decision of my life. I sold my practice at its peak production and invested in Brazil at Covid lows with a great exchange rate. After only three years of owning my rural property in Brazil, I received an offer for triple what I paid. I have big plans and dreams for the property and declined the offer. As the world faces nuclear world, I never felt so optimistic about my future. Dentistry was good to me, but it was time for a change and this opportunity would not be available without dentistry.

As a child of a poor family of seven children, I never imagined being part of the top 5%. As a new dental practice owner, I never thought of retirement before 60 years from dentistry. I don't know what is in my future but I am excited about it.

I know someone personally who is from Brasil. He said he would never go back. I’ve heard some crazy stories. I hope it’s good to you though.

Congratulations!! You worked hard and deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I am also a bit of a contrarian and you should be proud of doing things your way!

Dentistry is a great career which still offers those who work hard a great opportunity for financial and personal success.

Enjoy retirement!

It would seem the best time to sell a practice is always...
YESTERDAY!
