Anyone use ear plugs? While this probably sounds weird, I can actually foucus better when something's in my ears, even if it's headphones w/o any music actually playing. Can anyone who uses earplugs reccomend a pair that they really like that blocks a lot of noise?

Thanks!

I got the cheap purple ones at walmart. They work well and you get a bunch for just a few bucks. They also come with a cool carrying case (yeah I was most excited about the carrying case).

I don't use them for studying, but I use them for sleep every night (I'm a very sensitive sleeper, and apparently I have a herd of elephants living upstairs). I LOVE the Mack's silicone ones - it's a little plastic case inside a dark blue box. They block noise up to 90 decibels and unlike those stupid foam earplugs, they don't fall out.

look online for earplugs from a hunting & shooting supply place. they've got super duper ones that are great. the foam ones can be tricky-sometimes they fall out, but most of the time I have good luck with them.

I listen to music when I study so no. For some reason I remember things better with music which would explain why I know the lyrics to every songs the day after they play it on radio.

I hate the feeling of not being able to hear ambient noise around me. I am easily startled / slightly paranoid, so the thought of not being able to hear someone walking up behind me absolutely terrifies me. Yeah I'm a little weird, i know.
