Hey guys,

So I have an option of taking two different ochem labs next quarter for ochem lab II:

  • The first one is two labs a week and

  • the second is only one lab a week (doing same labs, but obviously not as many)

I am currently taking the twice a week lab for ochem I and am doing fine. I worry though that I won't have time next quarter to be keeping up with all the lab work because my mom's having back surgery in a couple of weeks and I'll be the one that's her primary caretaker. This is her second surgery and the first one took her a couple of months to recover. I wonder with all of that stress and workload if I should just tough it out and risk possibly getting a lower grade in the more frequent lab or look like a slacker in the less frequent one.😕

Will you be getting the same amount of school credits for either of them?

Are there any other major differences between the two labs?

If I were you, I would take the once a week and take care of my mom instead.

Option two is worth one less credit. The only other difference is quantity of labs.

So in option one, they would do labs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. in the manual whereas option two would be doing 1, 3, 5....

Just take the 1 lab a week option. Nobody is going to care that you didn't take the 2 lab a week series and it won't work against you when it comes time to apply.

Option 2 sounds perfectly fine to me then.

You can't look like a slacker from your choice of a single class.
