I'm applying to dental schools this cycle and will apply to a few east coast schools in addition to applying to west coast schools. I'm a cali resident and someday could see myself working in cali.

The question is, how feasible is it for someone who does the Northeast Regional Boards to work in cali? Is the Western Regional Board significantly different than the NERB?

If I were to specialize, would the transition back to the west coast be easier?

I'm just trying to understand these processes before I commit myself to a program.

Thanks, that's the answer I was looking for.

You could just opt to take the WREB instead of the CDCA (NERB), the only issue is that your school may not offer it and you would have to find patients if you take it at another school in a different state.

Definitely a bit of a hassle. Still doable though.

Out of curiosity, if people take the CDCA and then a few years later take the WREB do the still obtain the CDCA?

Thanks sjv for the some guidance on this!
