Easy Question: Please Help

I'm trying to set my 4th year schedule and my current goals are to get LORs, do 2 aways, and take CK all in time to improve my application.

My questions are related to timing: When must I complete a rotation by to expect a LOR? When must I take CK by to have it help me get interviews?

For instance, if I do an away the month of September, is asking for a letter Sept 30th too late? I am very unclear on deadlines and timing of this application process. Thanks for all you help!!

PS. If there is a best way to take Step 2 CK, and do 2 4wk aways for LORs before applications please let me know 😀 (my 4th year starts June 20th)

I can only speak for ortho, because that's the only thing I've looked into, but here are some dates. This is what I am doing. Hope they help.

3rd year ends June 17, taking July off to study for Step 2 CK, start aways in August, 3 aways (August, September, November). Hoping to get LORs in all of these. Apply on ERAS 9/1/11. Interviewing season starts in December through January. You can apply on ERAS and add LORs as you go.

I would agree with hat assessment. It would be better if you complete the rotation for the LOR first, because CK will likely take a lot of your time.
