Econ major math courses count in BCPM gpa?

I'm an econ major and am curious as if to I should/could include a few of my major courses into my BCPM gpa.

In particular, I have an A in a 400-level econ course that is required for all majors. It's the statstic and math fundamentals of the major. The official course listing is "elementary statistics". I also am enrolled in econometrics, and am on track to get an A. Could I include these, or is it a stretch?

It is up to you to decide if the content falls under BCPM, however, I was a dual biochem econ major and included econometrics, stats, applied econometrics, economic forecasting, and an econ independent study...AMCAS allowed all of them to be bcpm, of note I had all of the syllabi and was prepared to appeal, you should be prepared just in case but in my opinion they are legit

Doesn't hurt to try, OP. The worst that can happen is they change it back.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I just looked at the AMCAS classifications and it seems that "statistics" as well as "applied mathematics" courses are considered within BCPM range.

Did they actually ask for your syllabi, or you just had them ready?

Do you think that the fact that you had so many other science courses meant that they were more lenient with what you classified as BCPM?

They didnt ask for the syllabi but I almost expected them to and knew my syllabi would confirm the mathematics component. Seems wise to have it ready in case.

I dont know if having so many other science courses meant they were more lenient, interesting idea but I doubt it.
