Here's my situation: Currently I don't have any EC's but I have quite a bit of volunteering from when I was in the military. Unfortunately that was a few years ago. When you list your EC's, do you only put thoes you've done while going to school? Is there a statue of limitations on how far back you can go? I plan on getting into some things once I get a handle on my coursework, but I figure the more I can list the better. Thanks!

I would definitely include your military experience because that is really important and will tell a lot about you, but I would be selective with anything else that you did more than a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not going to use my old volunteering, but I am going to use my military service.
If you have no or very few ECs, can you write an explanation to why you don't have them? or is this not possible in PharmCas?

Honestly, I only had a few EC's too, but they were things that I was involved in for more than just a semester or a year. It's more important to be dedicated to one or two things rather than having little involvement in many different things. I would think it would be obvious to an admissions committee which applicants are trying to add "fluff" to their applications.

I think the only place you would really be able to address the issue would be in your personal statement.

Thanks, calrx. I appreciate the advice. I agree with you about the dedication vs fluff. That put it into perspective for me.

You are welcome!
That's just my personal opinion, others may disagree...?

Good luck, I think you'll be fine.🙂
