If one has done volunteer work in hs and then continued to do those activities after "graduation" would all of the hours count when putting the ecs down on a medical school app. I have been an EMT on an ambulance squad for all of senior year and through the summer after senior year. Also i have volunteered at the same hospital for junior and senior year as well as through the summer after senior year.

So would i be able to list all of those hours or only the ones after "graduating" high school?

That is a good clinical experience to put on the application even though it was started in high school. Legitimate patient care experiences are always good for the application. It would probably be ok to list all the hours, but in the grand scheme of things this isn't that important. No admissions committee is going to quibble over the number of hours you spent as an EMT in high school. Just remember that throughout undergraduate education you'll need to gain more experiences to further build your application (this high school EMT experience won’t be enough).

Yeah i'm definetly seeking more undergraduate forms of ecs/volunteer work,,,but anyways i have never seen a med school app so can u answer some questions i got:
When applying to med school on the app:
1. does one have to provide evidence that they were doing volunteer/ec/research work by lets say having someone type up a letter of how many hours one did with a signature?

2. Does one also have to include the dates in which the volunteer work was being conducted. For instance lets say i put the hospital volunteering (since junior year) on the app are the admissions counselors gonna look down upon me doing this so long ago?

1. No, not typically.
2. Yes, the time frame should be included. No, I don't think they would hold that against you.

okay thanks now what would you rather recommend i do right now:

Either get a job as a day camp counselor for the summer.

Continue to do the hospital volunteer work and EMT volunteer work over the summer

If i get the job as a counselor, I will not be able to do either the EMT or the hospital volunteering. So would this ruin my chances of even putting down EMT and hospital volunterring in the future because i technically didn't complete those ecs 'after graduation'?

That's a question you need to answer yourself. There are pros and cons to each.
