hi i decide next year to go to CSUB and take the pre-request for dental school
but i want to ask when i ask a dental office if i could go and help him or be a dental assistant will he prefer that a sophomore at college work for him or should i get a dental assistant certification i know some college give you the diploma in just 9 month so do i will need to be a dental assistant to have the ability to work in a dental office for having the EC's ?
thank you

You can get certified but it might be hard to fit in with a full course load at your university. A lot of people including myself did shadowing/ volunteering at an office/ clinic. You dont need any certification and you just get the chance to observe a dentist in practice or help out in a clinic. As long as you have some form of exposure to the profession thats what schools want to see. For ECs you can get involved with school clubs, outside volunteer work etc.
