Hello,
Please dont roast me, and just help a brother out.

So for Ec's there are 15 spaces to fill in, I will probably only have about 5-6 which include clinical/nonclinical volunteering for roughly a full year. My part time job for roughly 4 years, a chemistry TA positions hopefully for 2-3 semesters, and hopefully get some research going. Thats only about 5-6 spaces I can fill, so is this alright?
Also does shadowing count for this? If so makes that 7 out of 15.

Would like some honest opinions on this/ what else I should do, or even mention some good Ec's.
Thanks.
Edit: Also when writing these EC's in those spots does it include a date and the amount of hours I can input. Lets say I did it for a year, and clocked maybe 200 hours, I can write that in next to it or no?
Thanks again

I'm sure seven out of 15 spots is fine. My reasoning is as follows:

I filled in all 15 spots, but all of my interviewers seemed to hit on the same three activities, which were (i) my research/publications, (ii) my clinical volunteering, and (iii) one of my nonclinical volunteering activities that was a 'most meaningful' and in which I participated for several years. They also asked about my job as an ED scribe -- I started this after submitting and thus sent it as an update during the cycle along with news of a newly accepted publication.

It ain't a numbers game, this isn't "who has the longest CV"
You can and should certainly do more if you want to but this is not a measuring contest by any means!

Also mind answering this ...Also when writing these EC's in those spots does it include a date and the amount of hours I can input. Lets say I did it for a year, and clocked maybe 200 hours, I can write that in next to it or no?

Take a look at the AAMC website and you can look at a sample AMCAS. You put the start and end dates as well as hours.

I only filled about 7 with similar ECs as you and I was fine (although I also have high numbers). Many people will have more but quality > quantity for sure. One of the above posters was totally right in that only a couple usually get brought up in interviews anyways, so just make sure you have a couple really meaningful ones you can talk about.

Thanks, is it possible to sign up to the next cycles application just to look at everything?

You can make an account at any time for any cycle and no one will care as long as you do not submit it

I think any significant experience can be used as part of 15 spaces. I once heard from one of the admission directors saying that having a part-time job as a waiter goes a long way in your application. Because it has a lot of components that are important in medicine too, including communication skills, serving, customer service, collaboration,...
So don't underestimate some of similar experiences that you might have had in the past. Good luck.
