Okay now....I have a question about ECU that I would like to get answered. I've heard that they take the best MCAT score from each section, if you took the MCAT more than once, to get the highest score. So if during the course of my closed-file interview I am asked what my score was, do I tell them the latest score I received or take the best from each section?

Hmm...I'm unfamiliar with their MCAT policy. When you interview, you give your interviewer an envelope that has your name, your undergrad (and i think year of graduation), and your GPA. My interviewers didn't ever open the envelope; we didn't talk about anything like GPAs or MCATs, but we did talk about the school, my goals, and my life outside of medicine. Very low stress. I highly doubt they'll ask you about your MCAT scores, but if they do my advice would be to tell them that you took it multiple times, and then tell them what your best scores were. But I doubt they'll ask.

Maybe other people will have different opinions.

wake forest's med school has very little connection to the undergrad campus. it's about 4 miles away and only about 8 students a year come from WFU undergrad. otoh, about 15/yr come from UNC, 10 from state, 10 from dook, etc. not saying i love winston-salem, but the student support and education have been great...

gee, one really good reason to go to UNC is to be around a more diverse student population and to avoid students like peterock who are going to prejudge you based on a list of pretty superficial things about you.

pete obviously has some unresolved issues he may want to explore in a more supportive and caring environment than the sdn forums.

native of charlotte, nc - providence high school
UNC biology/psychology c/o 2000, gpa 3.4, mcat 31S
WFU med c/o 2005, going into EM

I would follow ST's advice about what to tell them if asked. Last year I was asked my GPA and MCAT in both interviews. I imagine it depends on who your interviewer is.

you don't choose your parents. you do, however, choose how you interact with those who are unlike you and how you ultimately live your life.

my parents aren't poor. they aren't rich either. in no way can they afford my med school tuition, and i am heavily in debt.
