Edinburgh -- pet friendly housing?

I am going to be doing a semester abroad (and hopefully stay for the 2012-2013 school year) in January, and will be bringing my dog with me. Trying to find pet friendly housing from here is fairly complicated. Any vet students want a mature, quiet, helpful undergrad student for a roommate? If you went to the Royal (Dick) from the states with your pet, how did you find housing?
