Why not just take a gap year after you graduate? If you're on a roll now, what's stopping you from graduating in another year? It'll be easier to study for the MCAT when all that material's fresh, too.

Would taking a gap semester look bad for medical school?

Are you taking a semester off or a year? And are those community service opportunities only available during that time?

I can't speak for medical schools, though I highly doubt it'll harm you significantly if you're a great student. I'm just personally curious about the potential of taking a gap year at this time.

My two cents: if you feel confident about the MCAT and can assuredly explain the gap year if it comes up in medical school interviews, I don't think it would kill your chances. It could raise a few eyebrows if you lack an acceptable explanation.
