Just wanted a quick clarifiation...does the application have to be fully completed by Aug. 1st or is it that the application just had to be in by then? I am retaking MCAT 7/17 and so 2nd score will not be back by then.

Call the school and ask. I think the July MCAT would have been okay at the school where I did early decision, but your school may be different. They should be able to tell you the latest date that you can take the MCAT and still have that score be considered for early decision.

AMCAS must be submitted by Aug 1. File must be complete (i.e., secondary app and any supplemental material) by Sept 1. At least that's how it worked when I applied EDP.
So you could submit EDP with your first score and then update the school with your second score as soon as it's available. I'm not sure what your first score was like, but this does run the theoretical risk of getting screened out of the pool before your second score is available.
You absolutely must contact the school you are considering applying EDP and see what they think of the situation. You should be in contact with the school, anyway, as many places will give you pre-EDP advice and often will give you a feel for your competitiveness for that program.

Thank you for your responses. I have already emailed admissions twice with no response (been over a week). I guess the next step would be to call and try to get a hold of someone. My first score wasn't very good (21m), which is why I am retaking. The school if Morehouse and I know that their avg. MCAT is around 27-28. I do have other things going for me such as my GPA 3.72 undergrad, 3.75 PharmD, lots of ECs, shadowing, research, clinical experience. I nearly scored a perfect score on my board exam, but just can't seen to crack the MCAT, which is very annoying. I guess I can attribute that to limited studying time while working full time and other responsibilities. Unfortunatley, I have to fit studying in where I can.

My school's last interview was 9/4 last year for EDP.

When I applied, all EDP interviews at my school were done the Monday of the last week of September. Decisions came out on that Friday. It was a stressful week. I can't imagine how regular-pool applicants are made to languish for months. 👎
