VCOM was at the top of my list until I interviewed at Campbell, which was such a good fit I decided to not interview at VCOM. I recognized, as you have, that there are MANY similarities between the two schools, including the curriculum, service (international and rural) emphasis, and many faculty, such as the Dean who was in leadership at VCOM CC prior to coming to Campbell. Some major differences (outside of the age of the programs) include slightly smaller class size of Campbell, city/rural location of campus, and the soon to be good number of residencies affiliated with Campbell (VCOM does have some). VCOM has the edge on an older curriculum, affiliation with a great school like VT and less rural pre-clinical years. Campbell is going to have really amazing clinical years with their hospital affiliations and the overall structure so I expect this to be a major advantage.
You definitely have plenty to consider but others have said, if you can, definitely go to the interview. I am a believer in visiting before making decisions, except when money is a deciding factor as it was for me.
