We started using these valves.
It was approved a couple of months ago here in the US but has been used in Europe for some time now.
Basically like the Magna valve, but incorporates a skirt like the Sapien valves. Only 3 sutures to sew it in place so pump times are significantly decreased.
They do cause some drop out from the skirt, much like the Sapien valves.
Overall, pretty cool system.

Haven't done one at my place yet to my knowledge. Seems pretty cool. Really hated the brochure telling me how to image the thing with TEE. Do you think it will decrease pump times by much? Academic center yeah sure, but PP I don't think it will save that much time.

Haha... yeah. Don't worry about that part. 🙄
That reminds me of a time long ago when robotic prostates first rolled out... the proctoring urologist pulled me aside and said:
"I really think your anesthesia department needs to put together a Robotic Prostatectomy Anesthesia Team" I couldn't help but to laugh out loud.

As per your question: They are saying it saves 40 minutes of pump time on average. This is obviously going to be very surgeon dependent. I think we've done the most in our region and we are seeing pump times reduced 20-30 minutes- but our valve surgeon is quick anyways.

The cost is significant however.
