hey cool deal

as iam new in this group and i am from canada . i am collecting the stuff for nbde but there is nothing much for ee in canada . can some one suggest me what can i do. thanks

Hi,
With my personal experience, I would like to tell you the following info...
In the US, there are around 450 or more seats for Advanced Standing Programs ( if I am not mistaken ) where as in Canada it is just around 70 per annum... you would be better off if you prepare well and appear for NBDE part-1 first, then NBDE part-2 (and then if you are still interested you can appear for the EE)... in this way you will save your time and you will stand a better chance of getting an admission in US than in Canada ... the scoring pattern for the NBDE is percentile which means that if you get between 70-75 correct answers then you get a score of 90 or over 90.. in the EE the scoring pattern is percentage and unless you get between 80-85 correct answers to get a score of 80-85 to make your application a competitive one to stand a chance of getting an interview call...In May 2006 EE the highest score was 93...

Hope this helps...
👍 Good Luck

thanks HYDBDS

THANKS FOR YOUR VIEWS FOR BOTH US AND CANADIAN BOARDS. YES UR RIGHT THAT IN US THE SCORING CRETETIA IS BIT HIGHER B'COS OF PERCENTILE METHOD OF SCORING WHICH MEANS BETTER CHANCES TO BE A CALL FOR INTERVIEW THEN THEN IF ALL GET WELL ONE CAN BE IN SCHOOL...AS I AM NEW I WILL CONCENTRATE ON NBDE PART ONE.THANKS ONCE AGAIN ..

and in the states is cheaper to apply than in canada
