Since I have really only been exposed to academic neurology to this point (PGY-2), I don't have a good idea about how the private practice world works. I envision most solo and group neurology practices have their own EMG/NCS lab with machines.
Is it common to also have an EEG technologist and perform routine 30 minute outpatient EEG's in the office?
Are EMU stays generally done under the care of a specific epileptologist at a hospital-based EMU?
If you were going to try to start up a "lean" solo neurology practice, how would you handle EEG's and EMU stays?
