I am wondering if my age would help/hurt/have no impact on my med school apps? I am finishing up pre med stuff now and will finish undergrad at 20 and take 1-2 years off to work/volunteer/shadow.

That being said this still puts me *hopefully* matriculating at 21-22. Would med schools view this favorably or would it put me at a disadvantage?

You will be evaluated on the merits of your app and how qualified a candidate you are for each medical school you applied to compared to the rest of the applicant pool. Your age will not directly affect how this is evaluated. If there are parts of your app you want to improve, that is a good reason amongst many others to take a year or two off.

The age is far less of an issue than how mature you act at interviews.
