It might correlate with the fact that people with these other graduate degrees, which were most likely obtained before med school, were lower med school applicants. They got these graduate degrees while working on their app for med school. This may translate into a lower med school performance and therefore less desirable match situations.
 
That's the MD/PhD trap, which was well-written. But, what about the MD/MS or MD/MPH people?
