Eight bosses

perhaps a reference to office space? A meeting with the Bob's? Great movie, but I can relate to feeling like different attendings have different standards and preferences which can be frustrating.

It was. Then I realized that I was ranting about my (eight) attendings and senior residents on the internet and that I'm to easy to identify for that kind of nonsense.

I can also relate. I have sometimes likened residency to being in a relationship with a borderline malcontent with dissociative identity disorder.

In most professional settings you don't have one boss. In law firms and accounting firms, as well as most financial services firms, associates work for multiple partners. It's not like factory workers where folks on the line answer to one foreman who answers to a suit. Keeping everyone happy is a skill you have to learn, no matter what path you take unless you choose to go solo.

Agreed. 8 "bosses" sounds about like what I have (most, but not all of them MDs at least). I'm not saying it's not a drag sometimes, but it's a fact of life (unless you go solo in the end) and you should get used to it.
