I would like some student opinions on off campus housing options (I'd rather not have a roomate), accesability of professors, on-campus race relations, and overall student happiness. Are you guys happy that you chose Einstein or do you now wished you had gone somewhere else?
I'm thinking of going to New Jersey Med instead. It's not that much cheaper because of scholorships Einstein offered me. I'd still get excellent clinical experience, affordable off-campus housing options, and a diverse student body. Do you think I'll regret my choice when I try to apply to a competative residency?

MissMD-

I will be a MS-1 this fall at AE. If you don't mind my asking, what scholarships were you offered from them that would reduce the cost comparably to NJ Med. From my understanding, they only offered $5500/year in AE loans max and $2500/year in grant.

Thanks-
DK

P.S. I don't know the reputation of NJ Med, but I do know that RWJ has a good reputation. Remember, it's not where you go to school, but how you do. If you're sure you can do well in your clinical years at NJ Med and rock the boards, then go where you most feel comfortable. I had the same predicament choosing between Temple and AE. It would have been 10K less for me to go to Temple, but I ultimately chose AE for its location, clinical training, and proximity to friends and family.

Hi Dr. Kermit - as far as I know, Einstein offers URM's a $17,000 yearly scholarship which is not based on need.
