EK verbal scale conversion?

hey,
just wondering if anyone using the EK 1001 verbal book has modified the # passages and/or Qs to reflect the actual format. If so, have you figured out how to also modify the scale? I was taking the full 85min sections, but i realized it's messing with the pacing of the real deal.

I just do about 40 questions, plus or minus a few so that I don't leave half a passage undone. I then take the % correct and match it up with the scale given in the book.
