What does last nights election result mean for ophtho??

Nobody knows yet. Will it expand Medicare and make it pay better so that Ophthalmology is reimbursed well and it is simpler and easier to make sure patients have access to Ophtho care? Will it turn the practice of eye care over to Optometry and give them a death-grip on patient supply? Will it cut reimbursements to all specialties and only increase reimbursement to primary care even though some specialties have already seen reimbursement cuts? Will it force ACOs and create horrible incentives that harm access for the most complicated patients? Will it drown us in a paperwork bureaucracy that is already stifling and hindering patient care? Will it streamline and simplify billing practices?

Who knows? I'm interested to see what those in practice are thinking, but I can't worry about it right now - I'm just trying to MATCH! 🙂
