I am debating between couple elective rotations for MS3 year and I was wondering if anyone happens to know how rigorous these electives are. Upperclassmen at my school aren’t too familiar so I was wondering if someone here can help me choose one. I was hoping to choose something that is pretty chill.

1) pediatric telemedicine : interacting with patients in a telehealth setting under the direction of a ped attending. I am wondering if this would allow me to just sit in front of my computer and interview patients.

2) pediatric ultrasound : learning to use ultrasound from pediatric radiology faculty and staff. I heard that radiology rotation tends to be easier but I am not sure.

Has anyone done any rotations that are similar to these? I would appreciate any advice.

2nd option.

Having parents explain to you why they think their kid has an ear infection over a video call and demand antibiotics is awful.

Ultrasound. It’s the wave of the future (no pun intended). The residents with their bedside ultrasound skills have a tool in their toolbox that I lack.
