Hi all, this may be a dumb question, but here goes: Would taking my first ophthalmology elective from mid-August to Sept.10th be too late to apply this year? I already have my exam scores and letters of recommendation set up and ready to go (from research and outside clinical work), but I may need to delay the rotation. Can you submit the CAS application without the ophtho rotation grade and then add it later after the Sept. 1 target deadline?

Thanks for any thoughts or ideas.

Seems like you're all set up to apply, why delay your application? Unless you have had no ophthalmology experience to date (but it doesn't sound that way given that your letters of rec and app is already so complete) then I wouldn't delay as this may adversely affect your ability to get interviews. As you know, the later you apply, the lower your chances of getting interviews. You can always send out an updated transcript to individual programs later.
