Just a quick endo question,
Does EPT work on porcelain crowns? What about composite restorations? I keep hearing different answers for this one so wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks!

Negative. EPT must be used against tooth structure. Any restoration regardless of material is a contraindication.

Great, thanks! I feel much better now.

Ept is not a good test anyway - false positives. I use cold, hot gutta percha, and percussion routinely.

No, you need real tooth structure to pulp test. Endo ice works better anyways. Extended response==irreversible pulpitis==needs RCT

No, that's why 3/4 crowns or even 7/8 crowns can be better as far as future planning goes. With those types, enough natural tooth structure is left to do an EPT if necessary. But like others have posted, there are often better methods.
