Can someone please explain the very bottom paragraph of the page? I'm trying to get better with ratios/proportions but I do not understand 8 grams to 3 grams, is equivalent to 2 moles to 1 mole

Molecular weights. 8g / 16 g/mol is .5 for oxygen. 3g / 12 g/mol is. 25 mol carbon. 0.5:0.25 =2:1
