Step II eligable for step 2?

does anyone have any real info about who is exactly eligable for step 2 and 3? It was always my understanding that you took steo 2 after 4th year but someone told me that the only prereq was passing step 1.

Same with step 3. Can you take it anytime after passing step 2?

You don't need to pass Step 1 to take Step 2
