I'm done my application. Going to submit tonight, but one of my eLORs is not submitted yet! Anybody else in this boat?!?! What do I do if she doesn't turn it in? I'm about to have a nervous breakdown over this!! Does it update to "complete" as soon as the person sends it???? AAARRRGGHHHHHH

It will update to complete as soon as it is submitted and you should get an email from VMCAS confirming that the letter has been received. But still, I would get on her about that letter and really make sure she gets it in ASAP!

I have 2 (of 4) still listed as "New"!

One assured me this morning that it would be done by tomorrow afternoon at the latest, and the other is a notorious procrastinator. I've been keeping in touch and know he'll come through at the last possible minute, but it's making me SO nervous until then! 😱

What happens if it doesn't get done before Oct 2nd? Does the whole thing get thrown out???

I don't know what will happen if it isn't submitted by Oct 2nd. Did you only have 3 evaluators?

You should call and keep after your evaluator to finish the evaluation. You can ask your evaluator if you can help her with the letter in anyway, the VMCAS website may go down etc.

I hope things work out!

Only had 3...2 vets I work with and my research professor...Only thought I had to have 3! Didn't realize I should have had a safety net!! 🙁

I have four evaluators but two are still listed as "New" gah! I know that both of them are the kind to do things at the last minute but I just sent them a very friendly email about how the website could become overloaded at the very end and how it would just be horrible if that made it hard for them get their evaluations in. So yeah, here's hoping they get it together soon!

At this late hour I'd say a phone call or in person visit (if you know where their office is) is VERY appropriate. It's hard...I had to do it last year with one of my evaluators. But I think the idea is to try to get across to them (without actually having to say it in so many words) that if their letter gets submitted late, you could be disqualified.

I think in reality VMCAS just stamps their letter as late and sends it along to the school to decide whether or not to accept it. But really. Do they want that on their head? That's kinda the tack I took. But you know, nicely. 🙂

Yes, I think this is what happens, too. Last year, one of my ELORs wasn't completed until December - so something around two months late. I got an interview to my state school, still, but not to the other school I applied to. At the end of the day, I think it had much more to do with my overall application and experience than it did with any lateness problems.

Completed!!!! Completed!!! Completed!!!! I'm sooooo happy right now....oh wait...not in yet.....arrrggghhhhh 😀
