Hi all, I stumbled on this site a few nights back while taking liver transplant ICU call, I think this is a great forum. I wish I had this when I was a student/resident. I've seen some interest in fellowship training and I just wanted to let you all know that critical care is a very valid option. I finished a 5 year residency in EM/IM at Henry Ford in Detroit and now am finising a 2 year CCM fellowship at U.Pitt. One of my friends from Ford is here with me and he is a straight EM trained doc. We have had several grads in the past that currently hold high academic positions in Critical Care (see my Trauma Surgery/EM posting). We have a FAQ section on our website if you are interested http://www.ccm.upmc.edu/mcctp/emfaqs.html and I encourage you to also look at our program if you are interested as well www.ccm.upmc.edu. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
Good luck
