wow...good to know. I just assumed it was for those with DNRs. After all, don't they have to be told they only have a certain amount of time to live before they can even be on hospice, or am I completely wrong about this?

I thought this too, but just last week my grandmother qualified for hospice d/t Alzheimer's and valvular heart disease. She still lives at home, walks, does ADL's with some assistance, no O2, etc. I had told my mom no way she'd qualify, but apparently it was no problem.

Great thread btw. I've been using the "so when was the last time you had a HA this bad" one for the past couple days-- it works great!
