I am applying to EM/IM programs and was wondering if anyone has had any interviews and could share their experiences. I received interviews from the following programs:

UIC - interviewing on 12/4 and 12/5
Henry Ford
LIJ
SUNY - downstate
Allegheny
LSU - New Orleans
ECU/Brody
Christiana

Any advice or assistance would be appreciated.

I am thinking about EM/IM too, but don't know how competitive it is. Just wondering if you can share some of your stat with us. Thanks.

I'm a pgy2 at UIC EM/IM and I would say on average we have 100+ applicants for 2 spots. I would say this is average for the EM/IM programs. Of course some will get more and some will get less. I would say that overall we are looking for solid applicants. Smart, motivated and a person who fits into our group.
My program runs the whole gamut of personalities but we all get along very well and make an effort to hang out and get to know everyone, including our program director (who is a graduate of the program in 2002). If you have questions please PM me. I will answer as soon as I can.
