EM Resident/Med Student & Urban EMS Ride Along Program

Hey, all I'm a Paramedic in a busy urban EMS system on the east coast. (to be non-specific) Recently began seeing a wave of resident and medical student ride alongs out on the street and I had this idea.

What kind of expectations do you have going into this type of "ride along"

Is there anything you would want to know ahead of time?

Is there anything specific you would want to do/practice/learn/etc during such a ride along.

Last, how much time do you think an EM Resident should do interacting with there local EMS system before becoming a "Medical Command Physician."
