Email from MCG

I just got home from work and got the e-mail as well.

I talked to Mrs. Perry about two weeks ago and she told me that some acceptances would be out Nov 30/Dec 1. And then some more following that. I dunno if that is still their plan or not though. Its going to suck if we have to wait until the end of December to hear anything.

Seems like they are interviewing late into the cycle (for them). I'm surprised that there are some tomorrow.
 
Matarsha Kendrick told me today that she is sending out the first batch tomorrow, but that more will follow next week.

I can't tell you how much I hope I am in that accepted "batch" tomorrow! By the way is anyone going to call tomorrow?
 
I hope so as well. I'm ready to end the stress... (for now) :laugh:
 
I'll feel like punk if I call tomorrow! I guess I should wait. Since it's in GA, there is a chance it (snail mail) could get to me by Sat. Wishful thinking, I guess.
 
Our mail is usually pretty fast where I live. I remember in college my mom could put something in the mailbox, and it would be where I went to school in a day...
 
well i never even made it to an interview (beat up 🙁)...but anyway, i actually have a friend of mine that is interviewing this week. how was there interview btw and when did you guys apply? i applied a little late (late sept)and i couldn't get my references in til close to the deadline which was prob the nail in the coffin...but anyway...good luck with your results 🙂
 
Actually, the interview was very relaxing. The night before they have you meet with a few current D-students to get a real feel of the school. The next day consists of school information and a tour as well as the interviews.

If one of your references was a professor that teaches Human Phys and Histo, then no wonder they didn't get there in a timely manner. I had to bug this professor for months to make it happen.

yea, i asked him to write one...but then i got one of the other profs to do it because i knew he wouldn't "get to it" on time...i bet most of the one's he writes are the same anyway

i'm also making sure that my app is in the first day that it can be AND i will be getting my LOR wayyy in advance!!
 
its pretty insane how lightly he seems to take the issue of LORs. I know several people in addition to you who just didn't bother with him, or were lied to about their letters being sent in.
 
Will they tell us over the phone if we call tomorrow?
 
How many of you are re-applicants? And have interviewed in previous years. I interviewed 3 years ago, was rejected, and then went to grad school. Here I am again in the same boat!

TacoElf, you are correct. Me and my stubborn self called today and they said they don't give info on acceptances or rejections over the phone. She did say letters were going out today though.
 
anyone get a letter from MCG today? I was really hoping for one, but nothing. Maybe tomorrow. They're my last hope. Everywhere else has me "waitlisted"
 
Hopefully we will receive letters tomorrow. Please post on here if you do hear from MCG.
 
They mailed the letters yesterday, so I think they should probably reach by Monday (since we're all in state, hopefully it won't take too long)!!

I am soo nervous!!, I am a 2nd year applicant, hopefully I get this time around!!

you will get your letters of acceptance this week... stop worrying. we're running a little behind with our committee votings.
 
Anyone hear from MCG today? I didn't receive anything in the mail.
 
I'm at work now. I guess I'll find out this afternoon! Is everyone nervous?
 
Is it just me or is MCG the only thing on your mind right now??? I have a lot going on with school and it's really hard to concentrate!

Hopefully tomorrow will bring good things for all of us!
 
No, you are not the only one. I am soooooooo hoping that I get some registered mail tomorrow!
 
I called this morning and MK said she just sent them out today and that I should be getting one tomorrow. 👍

Did MK tell you that will definitely be getting an acceptance letter...or just to be expecting letters, in general.

I really hope something comes tomorrow!

She said, '...The letter.' Didn't say acceptance letter.
 
It's weird that MCG is one of the last schools to inform students of their acceptance or rejection. Go take a look at the Official Acceptance Thread. By the way, what's the reason that they cannot tell you over the phone, especially if you verify that it is you with Date of birth and S.S. #?

Since MK just sent it off yesterday, we may not get anything til Wednesday or Thursday. And if it is an acceptance letter, it may take a bit longer because it is registered mail. What a bummer.
 
Yeah I just emailed MK as she said that only some were sent yesterday and that the review process is still going on.

She said it's due to federal guidelines. She mentioned two long acronyms. But yeah, MCG's pretty by-the-book.

I have to admit, I am on this site way too much! As a matter of fact, I have a final tomorrow and I am still sure that I'll be on here tonight!! By the way, there's gotta be more than 8 pre-dentals on SDN waiting for letters from MCG. I counted 8 in this thread.
 
I know what you mean, the pup needs to go out but I'm addicted.

I know other people that aren't on SDN (that I know of) that have interviewed.

I think our small group can be attributed to us being a Georgia ONLY school.
 
Just curious. Where else have you guys applied?
 
Applied: MCG, Creighton, Nova, Tenn, Louisville, BU, Tufts, Indiana, Case
Interviewed: MCG, Indiana
Rejected: Nova, Case
Haven't heard from the rest, but I was a little late getting my application in compared to most people


FYI, Dr. Hanes told me Tuesday that the committee will meet again later this week to continue with acceptances/rejections. She also said that if we did not interview early in the cycle, then we probably were not included in the first batch of acceptances.
 
Well, I interviewed right near the beginning of things, so maybe good news shall come soon.

I applied to Temple, Louisville, ASDOH and MUSC in addition to MCG. I interviewed everywhere but MUSC (kinda wish I didn't spend the money). I am on the waitlist at the other three schools: Temple, Louisville and ASDOH.

I did initially apply to Case and NOVA back in May, but never sent in an application fee/finish secondaries because by the time I got everything together, I knew they had received thousands of applications and didn't want to waste my money. Maybe it was a mistake, but I'm okay with it.
 
I'm IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife called me while I was at work a few minutes ago!!!! I am soooooooooooooooooooo pumped! She said it was a big manilla envelope. WOW!!!
