Email to Programs from PI? Current cycle

My boss (wrote one of my LORs, attending dr at well known academic medical center) wants to email schools on my behalf where I’m hoping for an II or waitlisted. Idk how I feel. Thoughts?

Not really helpful. This isn't an application for research or PhD programs.

Unless he personally knows the admissions dean (ie they are friends not just know of each other), it’s worthless

Thank them and let them know that this is not necessary.
Tell them that their letter was all that the committee would need.
