Emailing schools to warn about retake soon

Has anyone emailed schools that you sent your app into to just preface/warn that you're retaking the DAT so they don't throw your app into the no pile right away?

It might be a good idea if you have low scores, because yes they will auto-reject you if you don’t meet the schools minimums.

How do you recommend wording the email? Thanks!! Also, should i do this after sending the secondary or before?

You might send it before your secondary. Maybe something along the lines of: you are scheduled to take the DAT on (date), and have studied hard so you expect improved results (if this is the case). So if possible, I ask that you consider my DAT retake results before making a final decision on my application, aadsas #. Thank you, your name.
